Drive via AYE/Second Link or North-South Expressway. 3 to 3.5 hours from Singapore depending on traffic. Ayer Keroh is the main highway exit into Malacca town.
Jonker Street area has limited street parking and a multi-storey at Mahkota Parade. Outside old town, parking is easy and cheap (RM 1-2/hour). Most stalls have roadside parking.
Cash (RM) everywhere. Some restaurants accept cards. Touch 'n Go works at modern shops. Change money in Singapore before driving up, or use ATMs in Malacca. Exchange rate roughly 3.5 RM to 1 SGD (March 2026).
Grab works in Malacca but driver availability is lower than JB. Rides are cheap (RM 5-15 within town). For Klebang/Bukit Rambai, you may need to wait longer for a driver. Driving your own car is the most practical option.
