Chaiwalla & Co. is widely credited as JB's first container cafe, opening in 2012 on the Tan Hiok Nee heritage street. The concept is simple: a converted shipping container decked out in industrial-vintage style with pops of greenery, serving customisable teas and coffee. It helped kickstart the cafe culture on what is now one of JB's most-visited heritage streets.

The draw is the novelty and the drinks. You can customise your own chai or milk tea from a menu of bases and toppings. Food is limited to pies, brownies, and basic pasta.
